Frequently Asked Questions

Farming Practices

+ Why do you post a sign that reads, No-Cides?

Although we are not certified organic, we maintain good soil that is free of pesticides, herbicides and insecticides.

+ What’s biodynamic agriculture?

Biodynamic agriculture is a form of alternative agriculture that is very similar to organic farming. Biodynamic farming generates its own fertility through composting, integrating animals, cover cropping and crop rotation.

We farm according to the belief that healthy delicious food is directly linked to the health of the soil. Healthy soil is teeming with microorganisms and organic matter. When the soil is managed using various ecological, spiritual, and esoteric concepts, we believe we can take the benefits of organic practices much much further. We use many of the concepts derived from the agricultural lectures of Rudolf Steiner.
